800 year old forest

Our September road trip this year consisted of stopping in Vancouver Island before continuing down along the coast in the states.  A trip we haven’t made in 10 years! This time we stayed with Josh’s parents at their condo near Parksville, and from there we toured around to some of the key sites, marina’s, markets, and shops on the island. The photos below are from the Cathedral Forest on the way to Tofino. These trees are pretty amazing, and VERY old. We saw trees in Thailand that were a couple hundred years old which were FAR smaller than these. It’s like a rainforest in there. Very moist and mossy (like Japan). Smells excellent too.
