The last couple of weeks for Nixon in a nutshell:

Treating your lab’s ear infection(s) after too much swimming in Mexico- $165 pesos (patience, persistence, 2 rounds of oral antibiotics and 4 rounds of ear drops spanning over a month)

Preparing to extract a mystery chipped tooth- $250 (assessment and pre-op bloodwork)

Finding out your dog has non-symptomatic pre-kidney failure (d/t  bilateral small kidneys) by accident while switching between pet insurance companies- PRICEY (more bloodwork, urine tests, an ultrasound, new food, and who knows what else) & unfortunate (but at least we can take steps to slow progression). : (
