Not only were these brand new surfboards a great deal, but they are gorgeous too! We had them made a few months back in Guadalahara by a guy named Marco at ATL surfboards. They were conveniently shipped to a little shop in Bucerias (Buklaz surf shop) for us to pick up when we arrived. We’re not sure if they ship them internationally, but they are definitely worth checking out. For the price of one board at home in Calgary, we got TWO. We also got to choose our colors, pattern and size. We decided to take a couple pictures before the wax went on.
Below, you can see Marco’s signature, the size of the boards, AND that our names are pencilled in on the spine of the board. Pretty sick.
We had a chance to ride them the other day in Punta de Mita, and although we hadn’t been on a board in 10 months, we were still able to catch a few waves. It was a beautiful day, and just the two of us out on the water. Rumor has it, another swell is due to arrive at the end of this week, so hopefully we’ll be able to get out again.
If you’re looking into getting your own board drop us a line here and we’ll give it to you Marco’s information at ATL via email.
