Josh’s parents are in town this week, their first time in Puerto Vallarta, and so we decided to do a “sailling trip”. I love boats, and so I was keen to be out on the water, as was Josh, and when we met with Manny, our ever-so-helpful tour information guy at the his booth in Bucerias, he told us we would be on a sailling trip. Uh huh. Not a single soul on that boat knew how to sail the catamaran, so like we had expected, and although a little disappointed, we didn’t get to sail, just motored. It was still a nice day on the water, a long one with lots of tequilla, which we didn’t indulge, and too much sun. The fish were nice, and we were actually on whale chasing tour, i mean whale WATCHING tour, but everytime the loudmouth annoying lady on the boat pointed out a whale, the boat did a u-turn and we followed and gawked for a few minutes before proceeding to the island of Mariettas (a bird sanctuary). I’m not going to recommend or sway you away from a tour such as this, we knew it was a tourist trap, so to speak, as are most of the outtings in such a place, however, I was doing some thinking about the difference between a vacationer, a traveller, a retiree, and a humanitarian. But, I do have to run though, in a Mexican minute to go get my car washed, very inexpensively, because although I’d rather do it myself, that apparently isn’t possible here, and I have to set aside a Mexican hour to have it detailed, instead of just washing the outside. If i wanted that, I could have it done while in the Mega doing groceries…. Anyway, not complaining, just stating the facts. We’ll get back to you on the debate above, as well as the car wash experience. : )
